They incorporate three oxygen concentrators in the Maturín hospital

Three oxygen concentrators were installed at the Dr. Manuel Núñez Tovar University Hospital (HUMNT) in the city of Maturín, in the Monagas state, to favor patients with respiratory difficulties who need to be admitted to the Intensive Care Unit.

This was reported by the director of this hospital, Darwin Moreno, who explained that these latest generation medical equipment was distributed in the Pediatric, Neonatal and Adult Intensive Care services.

Moreno detalló que cada uno de estos equipos tienen un valor aproximado de 18 mil dólares. Destacó que: «gracias a las acciones inmediatas y eficientes del Gobierno Bolivariano, a través de la Organización Panamericana de la Salud, Ministerio del Poder Popular para la Salud y el gobierno regional orientado por el profesor Cosme Arzolay, gobernador (E), en medio de este tiempo de pandemia y sanciones, avanza en el equipamiento con modernos y sofisticados aparatos médicos a los servicios vitales de esta institución sanitaria».

Moreno said that an oxygen concentrator is a medical device that provides low-flow oxygen therapy to patients with respiratory insufficiencies caused by lung diseases. Finally, the director of the central hospital in Maturín, specified that these oxygen concentrators will be used to improve the clinical conditions of covid-19 and non-covid patients in Intensive Therapies.
