20 doses of Sputnik Light vaccines of Russian origin arrived in the Anzoátegui state, to be used in the national plan to reinforce the vaccination against covid-19.
The sole health authority in the state, Yemaira Villasmil, reported that 15 doses were consigned to the Kléber Ramírez oncology unit in Barcelona and 5 to the Felipe Guevara Rojas hospital, located in El Tigre.
Villasmil, recalled that the application of the booster vaccines will be done progressively for people who have more than 6 months of having applied the two doses of vaccines: Sputnik V or Sinopharm.
Other vaccines such as Soberana 2 and Abdala, of Cuban origin, are also used as a booster in the population already vaccinated with the complete two- and three-dose schedule, as the case may be.
The regional coordinator of Barrio Adentro, also reiterated the call to attend any of the 45 active vaccination posts in the state and maintain biosecurity measures, such as the use of masks and physical distancing.
