Mayor denied intervention of collection center for covid-19 patients in Zaraza

The mayor indicated that there has not been any removal of the health authorities in the municipality

The mayor of the municipality Pedro Zaraza, Guárico, Jumarly Fonseca, denied that her administration has intervened a private collection center where medical supplies are being collected for covid patients from the aforementioned Llanera population.

Fonseca's statement comes from the latest information disseminated on social networks where they accuse her of having ordered the closure of the aforementioned collection center, which operates in a private pharmaceutical franchise located in the municipality.

Fonseca indicated that there has not been any removal of the health authorities in the municipality, as they also aired it on social networks. Specifically, the networks reported that the director of the “William Lara” hospital had been dismissed for allegedly having accepted the donations collected from the Zaragoza population.

Last weekend, local stations promoted the collection of money and supplies to donate them to coronavirus patients confined both in the "William Lara" hospital and in the "Pedro Zaraza" Comprehensive Diagnosis Center. The activity was commented on in the program Hold on directed from the United States by the journalist Patricia Poleo and was attended by the singer of Llanera music Reynaldo Armas.

When announcing that day, the mayor Jumarly Fonseca greeted this initiative and said she was proud to have been born in Zaraza because with these donations its inhabitants put themselves "in the place of the other, feeling the anguish, the pain", according to a message published on her account Facebook.

Fonseca took the opportunity to recall that for a year the Guárico Government and the Zaraza mayor's office have carried out more than 14 actions to face the pandemic; Among which he highlighted the vaccination plan for 450 people from the public and private health sector and 177 teachers; conformation of the respiratory triage units of the general hospital "William Lara" and CDI; disinfection of 31.000 spaces in institutions and homes with suspected or positive patients; screening tests and epidemiological fences as well as provision of supplies by the regional executive.
