Government authorities installed the technical table of the Maternal Route of the Humanized Childbirth Plan in the municipality of Rafael Urdaneta (Cúa), Miranda state.
From the Eulalia Búroz Initial Education Center, Ornella Serrano, sole authority for Women in Miranda and secretary of Gender Equality in the entity, assured that the town has taken extraordinary steps in care related to the Humanized Childbirth program. "Despite the difficulties, this municipality of Miranda has been an example in the region."
Serrano said that the initiative dignifies the women of the country. "We all have a duty to make the technical table of the Maternal Route work and move forward."
The technical table will work at the Dr. Rafael Osío de Cúa Hospital, where a space was set up for the promoters to provide care to pregnant women and infants. In which they will participate Maribel León, director of Humanized Birth; Neiris Zabala, Director of Social Development; Dayana Hernández, coordinator of the National Institute of Nutrition (INN); and a team of health professionals.
While the mayor Gabriela Simoza indicated that 48 women, including pregnant and lactating women, were benefited with the delivery of medicines, multivitamins and the Nutrichicha Mamá supplement. Another 160 pregnant women and 300 infants have been assisted through the Nutrichicha Mamá Program. "During the recruitment process, previous visits were carried out to find out the reality of the beneficiaries," stressed the mayor.
Similarly, 700 children aged between 6 months and 5 years were included in the Hard Core Plan. The kids were given a nutritional evaluation and were given the respective food supplement.
Participating in the installation of the technical table were Mary Carmen González, Health Director of the Valles del Tuy axis; Dailys Pérez, director of the Dr. Osío de Cúa Hospital; and Mirtha Tovar, director of the Las Brisas Comprehensive Community Health Area (Asic).
