This week, the states of Zulia, La Guaira, Mérida and Barinas were activated, thus giving continuity to the Mass Vaccination Plan against covid-19, as established in the schedule established by the National government.

The governor of the state of Zulia, Omar Prieto Fernández announced that from this Monday, September 13, the placement of the second dose of the Sputnik V vaccine in the entity began, as reported in his program "Omar at 7". 

He explained that the people who received the first dose before June 7 will be able to come to the Sports Village and the Banzulia headquarters to complete the vaccination cycle. 

Prieto reported that the only requirement to receive the second dose of the Sputnik V vaccine is to present the control card, he clarified that it is not necessary to receive the convocation message by the Patria system. From 8 in the morning to 4 in the afternoon. 

The regional president assured that an important number of Russian vaccines arrived in the region to comply with the immunization schedule and reach the goal of 50 thousand people vaccinated per day in the state. 

He highlighted that 15 new Comprehensive Diagnostic Centers are activated for vaccination against covid 19 and routine vaccination in the entity and the house-to-house vaccination begins for people with disabilities, pregnant women or with 14 weeks of gestation, among others. 

He indicated that the cases of covid-19 maintain the downward trend in the region as a result of the vaccination plan that increases the number of immunized people every day. 

Prieto Fernández urged the population to continue complying with biosecurity measures to avoid new infections. 

La Guaira

Some 180 vaccinators deployed in the 8 vaccination centers in La Guaira,

Some 6.680 older adults from La Guaira received the second dose of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine, in the 8 vaccination centers on the central coast, this first weekend of immunization of second doses of the Russian drug.

He indicated that the second doses of the Sputnik V vaccine are guaranteed for older adults, for which about 180 vaccinators were deployed in the 8 vaccination centers in La Guaira, such as: José María Vargas Sports Center, Naval Hospital, CDI networks and other outpatients.

Regalado indicated that the health, security, food, airports and port sectors, as well as regional and municipal government workers, have been vaccinated with the Chinese and Russian antigen.

He said that this batch of second dose of Sputnik is being applied to people who received the first dose in the period between May 29 and June 3.

He stressed that they will progressively apply the second dose according to the distribution made by the Ministry of Health. "In this first installment, 10% of the 20.668 people who have already received the first dose of said vaccine will be served," Nieves emphasized.

Regarding the application of Synopharm doses, those summoned for this Monday and Tuesday to Social Security should go to the Camilo Torres Restrepo Comprehensive Diagnostic Center (CDI) located in the Los Sauzales Urbanization or to the Vicente Dávila Basic School.

"It is an expansion that is being carried out with the objective of achieving the vaccination of our population and meeting the planned goal," he stressed.

He also indicated that from this Monday the application of the second dose of Sputnik V began for those people who placed the first before May 31.

"Those who received the first dose of the Russian vaccine until May 31 from today can go to Maternal and Child Dr. Samuel Darío Maldonado for the second dose," he mentioned. He detailed that 249.432 vaccines have been applied in the state, including 158.607 of first dose and 90.825 second dose, both of Vero Cell and Sputnik.
