Alba López, manager of the Metropolitan Transportation and Transit Authority (Amtt) office, based in Barquisimeto, Lara state, made a call to the presidents of urban lines in order to present their collections for authorization in the provision of the service.
He reiterated that the updating process is open "so that they are not left out" of being able to provide the collective transport service in the metropolitan area that make up the Palavecino (Cabudare) and Iribarren (Barquisimeto) municipalities.
He reported that so far in 2021, a total of 719 urban transport units were audited through 43 operations carried out in different parts of Barquisimeto, where the official stops of the lines and parallel terminals take place.
The verification of the transport sector resulted in the application of 64 fines for excessive charging of passage, non-compliance with established routes per line and for not correctly applying the biosafety regulations in the face of the covid-19 pandemic, according to what was collected in a press release.
Finally, López explained that of the amount of fines applied and cited above, 44 were canceled, 11 have a payment agreement, 3 were reconsidered and 6 are in the cancellation process.
