In Porlamar they celebrated the beatification of the Doctor of the Poor

This Friday 30, the mayor of the municipality G / J Santiago Mariño, Francisco González, together with the first combatant, Mauris González de González, councilors, government team and the people of Porlamare, celebrated with joy the beatification of the Doctor of the Poor, Dr. José Gregorio Hernández, from the Beato chapel located in the Los Cocos community, under strict compliance with the biosafety protocol to prevent the spread of covid-19.

“72 years of waiting, today they bear fruit, Dr. José Gregorio Hernández has been recognized by the Holy See for his virtues and miraculous gifts. May this blessing and pride for us Venezuelans serve to reaffirm our faith and strengthen us in the hope of a promising tomorrow where love and solidarity towards others is the way and our way of life, ”said the Bolivarian mayor.

The religious and cultural programming began with the exhibition of an image of the Blessed in a float before the people, which traveled the main streets of the sector.

Afterwards, cultural groups were presented by the “Hermandad Dr. José Gregorio Hernández” from Los Cocos, the “Sol Oriental” Dances directed by Deirys Espinoza and the musical performance of the young Karol del Valle Romero Rojas, a second-year student of Education. Diversified in the Liceo Bolivariano Nueva Esparta.

The commemoration ended with a Thanksgiving Mass in front of the chapel, officiated by the pastor of the Holy Trinity Church, Tomás Paz.
