The governor of Sucre state, Edwin Rojas, visited the Social, Fisheries and Agricultural Production Unit (Upsa), located in the Araya Peninsula, on Wednesday, March 10, to supervise the production and increase of marine protein after a productive alliance of the regional government with the private sector.
Rojas in the company of the mayor of the Cruz Salmerón Acosta municipality, Jonny Acosta, and the president of CorpoSucre, José Antonio Martínez, expressed: “good news for all of Venezuela, which consumes fish and is part of the economic boost that President Maduro has guided. Today we are in Araya. A new company recovered ”, reports a press release from the Government.
The Processing Unit currently has a capacity of 5 tons of fish, but with private investment it will expand to around 25 to 30 tons per day of marine protein.
Finally, the president of Sucre said: "we are heading for the processing, the capture of fish to continue to strengthen the Sucre Fishing Power."
