This Monday, the priest Rubén Delgado, the vacant diocesan administrator of the Trujillo state, issued an urgent communication through which he urged to celebrate Masses and other liturgical acts of Holy Week in "private mode."
“In view of the recent announcement by the national authorities on the restrictions of the strict radical Holy Week, in which the celebration of liturgical acts (with the public) is expressly prohibited and following agreements with regional authorities, through this communiqué I urge you to celebrate the Eucharists and other liturgical acts of Holy Week in private mode. In the same way, I invite you to suspend any act that involves a meeting or assembly of the faithful, ”Delgado said in the statement.
He also stated that all these liturgical acts of the Greater Week will be broadcast by the Paz 98.9 FM radio station, television and social networks of the Diocese and each church, as he invited the congregation to be attentive to these media.
“It is necessary that we celebrate Holy Week as a family using the different exercises of piety, especially the meditation of the Stations of the Cross. May this experience of confinement strengthen and encourage us. That we know how to appreciate and value more the Sacred Mysteries of our Christian faith and in a special way the Eucharist, to which we do not have access without difficulty ”, he indicated.
Father Delgado asked everyone to comply with biosecurity measures to prevent covid-19 and especially to stay at home in this week of radical quarantine.
"May the passion, death and resurrection of the Lord lead us to a bright and hopeful Easter experience," he concluded.
