The governor of Monagas, Yelitze Santaella, announced the activation of three other hospitals for the care of patients infected with Covid-19. This as part of the actions it undertakes to contain the chains of contagion by coronavirus, which have been increasing in the region as a result of the new Brazilian variant that arrived in the country.
This was reported by Governor Santaella during the transmission of a radio pass on the radio station network of the eastern entity, after holding a meeting with the representatives of the General Health Staff of the Monaco region.
In this sense, the regional president ordered the adaptation of the José Antonio Serres hospitals in the Las Cocuizas parish; Simón Bolívar from Santa Cruz parish and José María Vargas from Alto de Los Godos parish; for the provision of a greater number of beds for hospitalization and thereby decongest the Hospital Universitario y Centinela “Dr. Manuel Núñez Tovar ”, where there are 263 beds available.
Santaella also pointed out that the Situation Room located at the headquarters of the Comprehensive Defense Operations Zone (ZODI - Monagas) was activated, for direct care of Covid-19 patients.
In support of patients who are receiving treatment at home against the coronavirus - and who require oxygenation to improve their clinical picture - Governor Santaella ordered the activation of two collection centers for the free filling of oxygen cylinders. The first of them is located at the headquarters of the state company Bosmoca, on Fuerza Armada avenue in the capital of Monaco. The second is at the headquarters of the Venezuelan Petroleum Corporation (CVP), in Tipuro, Boquerón parish.
Likewise, the Head of Government of Monagas mentioned the reopening in the city of Maturín of two Comprehensive Social Care Posts (PASI), better known as health hotels, with the aim of including patients with moderate symptoms and, in this way, avoid contagion from family members.
