Work progresses at the Lomas del Calvario landfill in Mérida

Operational work at the Lomas del Calvario solid waste landfill has registered 60% progress in cleaning and maintenance on its two terraces, one serving waste and solid waste from the hospital network of the municipalities: Libertador (Mérida), Campo Elías (Ejido), Santos Marquina (Tabay), Rangel (Mucuchíes) and Sucre (Lagunillas); and the second, processes 85% of the rest of the solid waste in these areas. 

Marielys Sacipa, director of the Secretariat for the Development of the Quality of Public Services of the state governorate added that two heavy machinery are fully operational.

Likewise, a vaccination day against covid-19 and the delivery of medicines were developed where more than 100 workers from the Lomas del Calvario landfill were attended, as detailed by Denys Mora, regional coordinator of the Barrio Adentro Mission.

He explained that adolescents and adults received the first dose of the Shinopham vaccine, as well as were benefited with the delivery of medicines and general medicine consultations. 

The Commune Ministry, the National Nutrition Institution (INN), the Mérida State Fire Department, the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB), the Nevado Mission, the Somos Venezuela Movement, among others, participated in the conference.
