Following the announcement of the beatification date of Dr. José Gregorio Hernández for April 30, the Diocese of Trujillo has organized two special activities to celebrate in Isnotú - along with the Trujillo people - the path to the altars of the Doctor of the Poor.
At a press conference, the administrator of the Diocese, priest Rubén Delgado, reported that the first celebration will be on April 30 at the Niño Jesús de Isnotú Shrine, with the broadcast on several screens of the central act of the beatification of José Gregorio Hernández , to be held at the Stadium of the Central University of Venezuela.
Likewise, Delgado indicated that Saturday, May 8, will be the diocesan act in which the relic of the remains of Dr. José Gregorio Hernández will be solemnly received, which will rest in the Sanctuary of Isnotú.
“We will have the relic enthronement. Each Diocese will be given the relic and we will have the diocesan celebration, but with a national character because it will be the first time that we will have a celebration of this tenor, of this caliber, of this scope (...) because Trujillo is the fundamental seat of the tribute that all Venezuela must render our blessed. We hope to count on that day with the presence of Cardinal Baltazar Porras, who has not yet confirmed, or the vice-postulator of the cause, Monsignor Tulio Ramírez, "he said.
Delgado reiterated that on October 26, the date on which the birth of the next Blessed Trujillo is remembered, the first feast and liturgical memory of Dr. José Gregorio Hernández will be celebrated.
Finally, the rector of the Niño Jesús de Isnotú Sanctuary, Father Magdaleno Álvarez, pointed out that on May 8 the blessing of the house of prayer where the Venerable was born will also take place, as a place of public worship, as a chapel, and also announced that there will be another surprise prepared for the occasion.
