Zulia Civil Protection confirmed the death of another person due to the rains, which occurred since this Sunday, in the Machiques de Perijá municipality. They point out that the body of a man was found walled up by a wall that collapsed, at the El Capitan ranch, and that it appears to be the chief Narcizo López.

This Thursday, the Vice Minister of Risk Management, Eduardo Hurtado, appeared in order to assess the damage caused by the flooding of the Macoita River, Mayor Betty Cifuentes de Zuleta reported on her Instagram account.

Urtado was received by the commander of Zodi Zulia, G / D Manuel Enrique Castillo Rengifo, and the Minister of Indigenous Peoples, Yamilet Mirabal.

The mayor indicated that they are conducting an inspection of the damage caused by the flood and the needs of the river, which cut off the Yukpa indigenous communities in the area.

Zuleta indicated that they are helping indigenous communities with food, drinking water and medical care.

"We continue in continuous deployment in this contingency in the Los Robles sector of Libertad parish, a community that was affected by the rains in our municipality."

He assured that they are making the comprehensive diagnosis of inspection of risks and needs to the communities of the Macoita basin, one of the most affected by the rains.

"We are committed to providing solutions to all these families, also delivering food and medicine combos," he said.
