Clavellinos aqueduct leak leaves Nueva Esparta without water

This Monday, June 7, there was a leak in the 36 ”aqueduct of the Clavellinos system, located in Brava beach, Chacopata, Sucre state, which supplies water to the island of Margarita, Nueva Esparta state.

The rupture of the pipeline was reported by inhabitants of the town of Sucre, who added that part of the highway collapsed due to water seepage.

The Hidrológica del Caribe (Hidrocaribe), announced this Wednesday, June 9, that repair work began to recover as soon as possible the entrance of drinking water to the Island.

"# ATTENTION #NuevaEsparta In conjunction with the protector of the state @DanteRivasQ and @CorpoNEsparta, we are executing repair work on 36-inch pipe, located in Playa Brava in the town of Chacopata in the #Sucre state," they wrote on the network social twitter.

Motivated by the execution of these works, the potable water service to the Nueva Esparta state is suspended.

For his part, the protector of the island entity, Dante Rivas, added that the water distribution cycle will be affected by this situation. He also indicated that the shutdown of the system is being used to repair leaks in the 4 ”pipe located in the El Silguero sector, Mariño municipality.
