ASUS announces a new model of the ROG Ally, its handheld PC

ROG Ally X would be the name of this new handheld PC, it is not a successor, but an improvement to the original model

A couple of days ago ASUS assured that it would have new news for those interested in the ROG Ally, a handheld PC or console PC that competes directly with the Steam Deck. This is the ROG Ally X, a new model with substantial improvements.

According to what is said on the networks, the price of this PC could be around $700 US dollars, its previous version would be around $650 dollars.

What's new ASUS offers with the ROG Ally X?

ASUS made special emphasis that it is not a successor to the original console, it is a model similar to the original, except in its storage capacity, the amount of RAM and its battery life.

“We weren't thinking about increasing the battery life by 30 to 40 percent more capacity, we were thinking much more than that,” explained ASUS vice president Shaw Yen, to The Verge.

The biggest complaint that users had with the ROG Ally is that its battery life was between 3 and 4 hours for high-power games, with the release of this new model they estimate that they could make a substantial discount with the previous ROG Ally.

More news about this powerful alternative to the Steam Deck is expected next June, in commemoration of the anniversary of the ROG Ally released in 2023 and close to the Summer Game Fest announcements.
