PlayStation VR2 will have its own PC adapter

With the new $60 adapter, gamers will be able to use Sony's virtual reality device from their PC

Through social networks, Sony announced an official adapter for your PlayStation VR2 peripheral. Allowing players to connect the system to their computers, allowing them to access VR games from their library on PC.

The device will be on sale starting August 7 and will allow players to enjoy Virtual reality on their computers through the Sony peripheral with some limitations.

“PS VR2 was designed specifically for PS5. So there will be some key features, such as HDR, eye tracking, adaptive triggers, haptic feedback and vibration, will not be available when playing on PC.” Sony stated in one of the PlayStation blogs.

Minimum requirements to use your PlayStation VR 2 on PC:

Gamers looking to use the PSVR2 will need to have a DisplayPort that supports DisplayPort 1.4 as well as a PC that meets the following specifications:

  • Operating system: Windows 10 64-bit / Windows 11 64-bit
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-7600 / AMD Ryzen 3 3100 (Zen 2 or later architecture required)
  • RAM / memory – 8 GB or more
  • GPU/graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 or later (Turing architecture or later required) / NVIDIA RTX Series / AMD Radeon RX 5500XT or later / AMD Radeon RX 6500XT or later
  • DisplayPort: DisplayPort 1.4 (must have a standard DisplayPort or Mini DisplayPort output port)
  • USB: direct connection only
  • Bluetooth: Bluetooth 4.0 or later

The adapter will have an approximate value of $60, although the peripheral will not have all of its notable PS5 features. Yes, it will have a 110-degree field of view and 4K images, touch detection and outside vision. In addition to fovea rendering and 3D audio in supported games.
