We will have a new Nintendo Direct this June 18

Over 40 minutes we will learn about the games that will arrive in the second half of 2024, but nothing about the successor to the Nintendo Switch

In May, Nintendo officially confirmed that this fiscal year (which ends in March 2025) they would reveal the successor to the Switch, and along with that, they mentioned that in June there would be a new edition of the Nintendo Direct with information on the games that will arrive to the hybrid console during this second half of 2024.

Today, the Japanese company has finally given a date for the broadcast, which will last 40 minutes, and will take place this Tuesday, June 18 at 10 a.m. m Venezuela time.

At the moment, the only thing that Nintendo confirmed is that the broadcast will only focus on games released on the company's current system; Basically, fans of the console will not see an official reveal of its successor. That reveal won't happen until sometime before Nintendo's fiscal year ends in March 2025. For now, Nintendo's only focus is on the current Switch.

At the time of writing, Nintendo's own list for the rest of 2023 is pretty empty; Luigi's Mansion 2 HD will be released on June 27, while Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition will be released on July 18. Beyond this, not much is known beyond the games revealed during the week of the Summer Game Fest.

The possible features of the Nintendo Switch 2

As always, the Nintendo console has been surrounded by an almost infinite number of rumors, but it recently came to light that this console will have magnetic Joy-Con technology, a larger size than the current console has (but smaller than the Steam Deck).

It is also expected to have backward compatibility features with the Switch, as the Big N has been allowing with the consoles it has released over the past few years.
