Donkey Kong Country Returns HD will arrive on January 16, 2025

This remaster brings 80 levels, including new levels later added to the 3DS version of the game.

Announced during the Nintendo Direct June 2024, Donkey Kong Country Returns, a title that first came to the Wii in 2010, will arrive on the Switch on January 16, 2025 with its HD version. The remaster brings 80 levels, including new levels later added to the 3DS version of the game.

Donkey Kong Country Returns was released in 2010 for the Nintendo Wii. Developed by Retro Studios, the game was a commercial success and sold over 6 million copies. Monster Games developed the 3DS version of the game, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, and released it in 2013.

The game later received a Wii U sequel, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze in 2014, which would later be released on Nintendo Switch in 2018.

If this is your first contact with the game when it arrives in 2025, you can play alone or with a friend in two-player local co-op in an adventure full of mischief in which you can trample obstacles, send mine carts to all speed, fly high in rocket barrels and even ride Rambi the Rhino.
