Black Ops 6 marks the first game in the franchise to be added to the service since Microsoft completed its $69 billion purchase of Activision in October 2023.

“We're excited to confirm that Game Pass members will be able to access Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on day one with Game Pass,” said Megan Spurr, líder Xbox Game Pass community senior.

At the moment, it is unknown which other game in the Call of Duty franchise will become available on the subscription service, but probably We will find out this Sunday, June 9 after the Xbox Games Showcase. At that event, Activision will make the official reveal of Black Ops 6 with details of its story, multiplayer, platforms where it will be available and even a more specific release date.

Treyarch is ready to bring back the Black Ops series

Having launched a teaser site for the game earlier this week, Activision officially confirmed today that Black Ops 6 is this year's Call of Duty. It has been stated that the title is set in the early 1990s, during the Gulf War, and that development was led by Treyarch and Raven Software.

Treyarch came to the Call of Duty franchise in 2008 with World at War for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii, and PC. Black Ops 6 will be the direct sequel to Black Ops Cold War, the last title in the series that arrived in 2020.

Set in the 1980s, in the middle of the Cold War, the game puts us in the shoes of CIA agents Russell Adler, Alex Mason and Frank Woods. Their mission: eliminate Qasim Javadi and Arash Kadivar, responsible for the hostage crisis in Iran.

At launch, the title was implemented in Warzone for a year by Activision. After the arrival of Call of Duty: Vanguard, Black Ops fans were left wanting to play the next title in the series until now.
