Assassin's Creed Infinity changes its name to Animus Hub

Ubisoft confirmed the name change of its next core ecosystem, and it is expected to arrive alongside Assassin's Creed Shadows

After presenting us with an extensive and illuminating gameplay of Assassin's Creed Shadows during Ubisoft Forward, the next title in the beloved stealth and parkour franchise, its developers have also given new details of the next step of the franchise: A central ecosystem that will serve as the central heart of the series.

Although we previously knew it as Assassin's Creed Infinity, it is now known as Animus Hub.

In case you don't know what this is about, it basically acts as the central nervous system for everything related to Assassin's Creed, much like Call of Duty HQ does, this being the central point for the launch of the franchise's games since 1's Modern Warfare 2019.

On the side of Animus Hun (formerly Assassin's Creed Ininifty), it takes advantage of one of the main plots of the saga (or at least of the first games) as it is a series of simulations carried out by the fictional company Abstergo Industries.

In a recent interview with Game File, Ubisoft vice president and executive producer Marc-Alexis Côté confirmed to Stephen Totilo that the name change had come into effect, but did not confirm when the 'platform' will come into play. However, it has been suggested that it will arrive in time for Assassin's Creed Shadows, the dual-protagonist title set in feudal Japan releasing on November 15.

Taking into account that Assassin's Creed Shadows will arrive on November 15, 2024 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, it would be easy to think that Ubisoft could take advantage of this opportunity to launch its new central axis of the franchise.
