As informal as it may seem, Nintendo confirmed the announcement of its next console through a tweet:

“We will make an announcement about the successor to the Switch within this fiscal year. More than nine years will have passed since we announced the existence of Nintendo Switch in March 2015,” Shuntaro Furukawa mentions in the publication.
