New Penal Code will be adapted to the Constitution

The new Penal Code will be adapted to what is established in the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela (CRBV) and to the new criminal forms that have emerged in the country, such as crimes against the homeland, against national sovereignty and computer scientists.

This was reported by the coordinator of the Subcommittee on Political Regime and the Justice System of the Permanent Commission on Internal Policy, Deputy Francisco Ameliach, who highlighted that the deputies Cilia Flores and Iris Varela, members of this subcommittee, have been working on said code for more a decade with a qualified technical team, and the work is well under way.

He indicated that the technical team coordinated by deputy Varela has detected a great dispersion of punitive norms that must be classified exclusively in the Penal Code.

He reiterated that it is planned to present this legal norm to the plenary of the National Assembly (AN) before the end of the first semester of this year.
