The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, warned the European Union (EU) on Wednesday that if they do not rectify the sanctions imposed on officials, dialogue will not be resumed, since he highlighted the proposal made this Tuesday by the Legislative Power where the Executive was exhorted to decree as persona non grata the ambassador of this group of nations.
"Either they ratify or there will be no type of dialogue, Venezuela has dignity and will know how to respond to any aggression, wherever it comes from," he declared.
In the opinion of the national president, the European Union believes itself the new imperial world power with the right to treat Latin American countries as its colonies.
“They mess with an entire country, and what do they expect, that we thank them for attacking us? , no,… we were looking for dialogue, with a country in Europe and the opposition, but not like that. We want to have the best relations with all of Europe, but we cannot accept that nobody comes to offend, attack and punish Venezuela, ”said the president.
He recalled that he has been a promoter of dialogue, "they are welcome but if they respect us, if they respect democracy, the dignity of our country."
He explained that the EU once again sanctions officials of the Venezuelan State. This time to some deputies of the Legislative Power, to some opposition deputies, "showing a pittance, only to punish them because they participated in the elections, as if they decide on the decisions of the Venezuelans."
He commented that the sanctions included officials of the Judiciary, thus attacking magistrates of the country's highest court. These new sanctioning measures also incorporated rectors of the Electoral Power.
“What do they think - asked the president - the elite, the EU leadership believe that they can address Latin American countries as if they were their colonies and we are not going to allow it. They mess with an entire country, and what do they expect, that we thank them for attacking us? They interfered with the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, with the State security forces, attacked the police systems, punishing their bosses. Venezuela has dignity and will know how to respond to any aggression, wherever it comes from. Not even the EU will be able to beat us ”, declared the President of the Republic.
