Cabello: 85% of the PSUV candidates are new leaders

The vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, Diosdado Cabello, reported that 85% of those nominated for councilors and legislators are women and do not hold public office, said during a ceremony held at the Teresa Carreño theater with the Pre-candidates and Pre-candidates for the Governors and Mayoralties, postulated by the membership of the PSUV and Jpsuv Party.

«El chavismo ha demostrado que tenemos organización de base y son 183.000 nombres de compañeras y compañeros que son vistos por las bases  del partido con un potencial de liderazgo”, dijo y destacó la importancia que en el caso de los legisladores y los concejales, más del 85% son nuevos liderazgos sin responsabilidades actuales en cargos públicos y también celebró que la mayoría de estos postulados, sean mujeres.

«Esto no es una elección para dividir al partido sino para consolidar la base chavista», insistió Cabello.

Cabello reported that the regulation that will govern the electoral campaign of the Psuv primaries that will be held on August 8, where all Venezuelans will be able to participate, is almost ready, since the country's electoral roll will be used and that the electoral campaign of the Red awning will start on July 15 until August 5.

Next, he read a letter of commitment to be assumed by the 183 thousand candidates who were selected during the conferences held where more than 2 million psuvistas from the bases participated on June 27.

The campaign must be direct with the people, austere and pedagogical that promotes spiritual union, based on solidarity, anti-imperialism and peace.
