Government bets to continue working with FAO

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, ratified his commitment to strengthen strategic alliances and joint work with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

“I extend my greetings to the team of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO), on its 75th anniversary. From Venezuela we reiterate our commitment to consolidate our strategic alliances and joint work, vital to overcome difficulties, "said the Head of State on his Twitter social network account.

The Government has drawn up national production lines focused on urban agriculture, the development of food processing plants and harvest plans, to guarantee self-consumption of food and comply with the UN Sustainable Development Plan, amidst the economic blockade and financial tax imposed by the US.

On April 7, 2014, FAO baptized with the name of “Hugo Chávez” the Plan of Action for the Eradication of Hunger and Poverty, which is being carried out by the organization.
