EA accredits Gustavo Tarre as "designated" representative of Guaidó

The Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS) approved on Tuesday a resolution that recognizes Gustavo Tarre as the “designated” permanent representative of Juan Guaidó.

The representative of Venezuela at the agency's session, Asbina Marín Sevilla, rejected the measure by saying that it "violates the founding charter" and turns the OAS into an "empty shell."

Seville recalled that Venezuela had already processed its exit from the organization, a decision that was programmed by the Caribbean nation to comply with the coming April 27.

The official emphasized to those present at the session that the only way for her to withdraw "is for her to have a resolution where 24 states vote to suspend my country," she added.
