The president of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Pedro Calzadilla, and the Resident Coordinator of the United Nations (UN) System, Gianluca Rampolla del Tindaro, met this Friday at the headquarters of the Electoral Power.
The meeting was attended by the Vice President of the Electoral Power, Enrique Márquez, as well as the UN Special Adviser, Antonio Arabimar Arze.
Upon leaving the meeting, the highest electoral authority thanked the courtesy visit of the senior United Nations official, in which they exchanged impressions on the possible joint work to be developed with a view to the Regional and Municipal Elections on November 21.
The Italian Rampolla, was appointed as resident coordinator and humanitarian coordinator of the UN in Venezuela in August 2021.
Rampolla most recently served as the Resident Representative in Papua New Guinea after serving as Chief Political Affairs Officer at the UN regional office for Central Africa in the capital of Gabon.
The resident coordinator representing the United Nations System assumes overall responsibility and coordination of the United Nations development activities carried out in the country.
