Venezuela expressed its support for Kazakhstan

The Foreign Minister of Venezuela, Félix Plasencia, reported this Friday that he spoke by telephone with the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mukhtar Tleuberdi, to express all solidarity and support in defense of sovereignty and the Kazakh Constitution.

Plasencia issued the information through the social network Twitter, "We spoke, by telephone, with the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mukhtar Tleuberdi, to whom we stated, on behalf of the President @NicolasMaduro and the Venezuelan people, all our solidarity and support in defense of sovereignty and the Kazakh Constitution," he said.

Russian-led troops on Thursday began their withdrawal from Kazakhstan, where they were deployed last week to restore order during protests and unrest that marked a turning point in the former Soviet republic in central Asia.

Last week, Kazakhstan was the scene of unprecedented riots since its independence in 1991. The incidents caused dozens of deaths and hundreds of injuries, and at least 12.000 people were detained.

In another message, the Foreign Minister added that he also had a cordial telephone conversation with the Foreign Minister of Somalia, Abdisaid Muse Ali, “focused on strengthening bilateral dialogue and multilateral cooperation. We are also exploring various options for establishing alliances in economic matters," he said.
