Peruvian governors ask Venezuela for support in the face of health crisis

The Regional Governors of Junín, Tumbes and Lambayeque of Peru sent letters to the Venezuelan Government requesting logistical support to face the health crisis that their territories are going through.

This was reported by the Minister for Foreign Relations, Jorge Arreaza through a message posted on his account on the social network Twitter, where he posted the images of the letters signed by Wilmer Dios Benitez; Fernando Orihuela Rojas and Luis Alberto Díaz Bravo, regional governors of Tumbes, Junín and Lambayeque respectively.

The head of Venezuelan diplomacy pointed out that these leaders were informed of the need to communicate with the Peruvian national authorities to evaluate the logistics and possibility of support.

This Saturday Peru registered 384 deaths from covid-19, this being the highest figure since last August 19, 2020, the Ministry of Health reported.

Accumulated infections amounted to 1.639.767, with 11.248 on Saturday; and deaths, to 54.669, with 384 in the day, the highest daily figure since the pandemic broke into the country 13 months ago, according to the daily balance of the ministry.
