Maduro thanks the Pope for his solidarity with the people of Mérida

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, thanked Pope Francis for his solidarity with the people of Merida affected by the heavy rains that occurred in the country.

Through a post on his Twitter account @ NicolásMaduro, the Head of State expressed his gratitude to the Supreme Pontiff. «Thank you @Pontifex_es for your prayers and words of encouragement, in these moments of calamity due to the rains. With the strength and love of the Lord Jesus Christ, we take the necessary actions to protect and fully care for the affected families. God is with us!".

Likewise, the Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, expressed her gratitude to Pope Francis for having Venezuela always present in his heart. «Thank you @Pontifex_es for always having Venezuela present in your heart !! Our people appreciate your prayers in the face of this natural tragedy! ».

On the other hand, the Chancellor of the Republic, Félix Plasencia, making use of the same social network, sent Pope Francis a message of gratitude for his solidarity with the people of the state of Mérida. «His Holiness @Pontifex_es your prayers are a balm for our country, especially for those who are suffering the impact of the rains. His faith also inspires the entire Bolivarian Government and President @NicolasMaduro to work tirelessly in favor of our people.
