Call to abstention is contrary to the democratic culture of the country

The vice president of the Commission for Dialogue, Peace and Reconciliation of the National Assembly, Luis Eduardo Martínez, specified this Thursday that the only guarantee for the country to achieve political stability is through voting, therefore he considers that the call for abstention by the extreme right is contrary to the democratic culture of Venezuela.

In this sense, he said that “I have always proclaimed the need to participate and vote. We cannot renounce an element inherent in democracy and in any country in the world, which is the vote. Abstention is bad for everyone because the fundamental instrument of influence is to vote ”.

During his participation in the program Al Aire broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), Martínez assured that a fundamental part of the problem is that in Venezuela there is no opposition, but there are several opposition currents in the country, there is a need for intra-opposition dialogue .

Likewise, he insisted on affirming that if the opposition sectors are not capable of interpreting Venezuelans and not even understanding each other, they have nothing to offer the common people.

In another vein, he assured that shortcuts do not lead to anything in Venezuela, that is, neither coups d'états, nor multilateral intervention, much less insurrections are going to guarantee that Venezuela goes ahead.

Likewise, he affirmed that dialogue and reconciliation in peace is essential for the future of prosperous Venezuela and for the common well-being for the greatest amount of happiness of the majority.
