Yesterday, the Russian embassy and the Ministry for Ecosocialism planted 30 flamboyant trees in the Garden of Memory, located in the Generalissimo Francisco de Miranda park in Caracas, to pay tribute to the heroes of the fight against Nazism and fascism during the commemoration of the start of the Great Patriotic War on June 22.

Minister Josué Lorca, accompanied by the Russian ambassador to Venezuela, Sergei Melik, stressed that the act reiterates the importance of preserving life on the planet and saving the human species.

“On behalf of our president Nicolás Maduro and together with the Russian ambassador Sergey Melik, we meet to honor his memory and not forget the great contribution that mother Russia gave to humanity. Let us remember that our brother town suffered 26.000.000 casualties, ”she posted on Instagram.

Likewise, he reiterated the example of the Soviet Union and the epic of its Great Patriotic War, since they demonstrate the character, decision, audacity, courage, intelligence and revolutionary spirit of the heroic combatants who gave their lives for the fight against Nazism.
