The Salvador Allende Comprehensive Diagnostic Center, located in the Chuao urbanization of the Baruta municipality, in the Caracas metropolitan area, has different active services to provide free care to the population.
In the CDI, where there is also a comprehensive rehabilitation room, care areas in general medicine, traumatology, gynecology, ophthalmology, cardiology, laboratory, hospitalization and emergency are in operation. In addition, they have other spaces for bone densitometry analysis , endoscopies, x-rays, echocardiogram and echosonogram.
Rehabilitation
- Location. The Comprehensive Rehabilitation Room is located in basement 1 of the CDI Dr. Salvador Allende.
- Schedule. The first shift works from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., while the second one starts at 2:00 p.m. and they only serve people who have a strong reason for not being able to attend the morning shift.
- Collections. Report of a trauma doctor and the various tests that the patient has, including x-rays.
- Procedure. The physiatrist will evaluate the patient and review both the exams and the traumatologist's report in order to indicate the type of therapy to be performed. Subsequently, he will give you a card with instructions for you to go to the corresponding area such as: physiatry, gym, electrotherapy and hydrotherapy.
Magnetic resonance
- Location. In the diagnostic imaging area of basement 1 of the CDI.
- Schedule. From next March 27, appointments will be made only on Mondays to provide care to 40 people during the week.
- Collections. Medical order, medical report and identity card.
- Procedure. For now, in the area they are only performing MRIs of the skull, spine and knees. At the center they do not perform the study on underage patients, people with pacemakers, metal clips or implanted electrodes. Likewise, those who have surgical or middle ear prostheses will not be treated, as will be the case with those who suffer from claustrophobia, are in serious health or who weigh more than 100 kilograms.
Ophthalmology
- Location. Basement 2 of the CDI Salvador Allende.
- Schedule. From Monday to Friday. They recommend arriving at 5:00 AM because they only serve 20 people.
- Collections. Medical order.
- Procedure. In the area they treat eye conditions and prescribe lenses. Currently they do not deliver glasses, only the formula.
Emergency
- Location. Ground floor of the CDI Salvador Allende.
- Schedule. He works 24 hours a day.
- Collections. You do not need a medical referral.
- Procedure. For now, the medical personnel on duty only treat injuries that are not very serious, as well as general malaise and other conditions.
Gynecology
- Location. Basement 2 of the Chuao CDI.
- Schedule. You must request an appointment from Monday to Friday, starting at 7:00 am. They ask to arrive an hour before.
- Collections. You do not need a medical referral.
- Procedure. During the consultation, the gynecologist checks the reproductive organs of the woman, controls pregnancies and treats diseases in the reproductive system.
Trauma
- Location. Ground floor of the CDI Salvador Allende.
- Schedule. You have to make an appointment from Monday to Friday, starting at 7:00 in the morning. They recommend going an hour before.
- Collections. Medical order
- Procedure. The traumatologist doctor treats the ailments suffered by the patient, some generated due to accidents and others due to diseases.
