Rains and showers are expected in most of the country

For the afternoon and evening hours, an increase in cloud cover with rain, showers and electrical activity is expected.

For this Thursday, cloud cover, rains of variable intensity and showers are expected in much of the country, said the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (Inameh) in its forecast diary published on his account on the social network X.

In this regard, he specified that for the morning hours cloudiness producing rainfall of variable intensity in areas of Guayana Esequiba, Delta Amacuro, Bolívar, Amazonas, Sucre, Monagas, Anzoátegui, Miranda, Capital District, Aragua, Carabobo, Central and Western Plains, Andes and Zulia.

Meanwhile, in the evening and night hours, an increase in cloud cover is expected in most of the country, with the formation of convective nuclei associated with rains, showers and electrical activity, more intense and frequent in areas of Bolívar, Delta Amacuro, Sucre. , Monagas, Anzoátegui, Guárico, Miranda, la Guaira, Capital District, Aragua, and Carabobo.

Regarding Greater Caracas, Inameh indicated that it is expected to be cloudy for most of the period with rainfall of variable intensity and electrical activity, more intense and frequent after noon.

Weather conditions generate rain

The institution pointed out in another publication that these rains are generated by the activity of the Intertropical Convergence Zone and the second tropical wave of the year that moves from the east to the center of the country, which is also reinforced by orographic effects.

Regarding the situation over the Atlantic, Inameh indicated that there is the presence of frontal systems, with low and high pressures in the north. Likewise, she highlighted the existence of three tropical waves, one of which is moving over Honduras. While the second does so over the east of the country, and the third over the central Atlantic.

On the other hand, Inameh indicated that a wave of one meter high is estimated on the Central coast and 1,5 meters high on the Eastern, Western and Insular Zone coastlines.
