Venezuela reports 684 new infections of covid-19 and enters a radical quarantine

The Venezuelan government, through the Presidential Commission for the Prevention and Control of covid-19, offered the balance of covid-19 infections corresponding to this Sunday, October 11. The Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, highlighted that 643 community cases and 41 imported cases were registered on the day, for a total of 684 new infections today, bringing the total number of infections in Venezuela to 83.137 people.

The Capital District was the region with the highest number of cases with 113 infected, followed by the states of Zulia (93), Yaracuy (66) and Miranda (60). From her twitter account, the Vice President of the Republic Delcy Rodríguez, reported that 41 cases arrived from neighboring Colombia, 32 of them arrived in the country through the state of Táchira and 9 through the state of Zulia.

On the day of this Sunday, she lamented the death 6 Venezuelans died from covid-19. A 70-year-old man in Miranda, a 51-year-old man in Anzoátegui, a 62-year-old man in Cocheabobo, an 86-year-old woman in Táchira, an 87-year-old woman in Apure and a 44-year-old man in Monagas state.

Rodriguez reported that of the total infections 7.776 are active, 74.664 recovered (90%), 5.599 are in Hospitals, 1.974 in CDI, 203 in Private Clinics and the unfortunate figure of 697 deaths.

She recalled that under instructions from President Nicolás Maduro, the Venezuelan formula of 7 x 7 is maintained, so this Monday, October 12, the week of radical quarantine begins throughout the country, under the strategy "Venezuela has decided to take care of itself."
