Petare revamps itself to celebrate its 400 years

On February 17, the 400th anniversary of the founding of the Petare community is celebrated, in the Sucre municipality (Miranda), which is why a series of activities has been scheduled, where the authorities and neighbors have joined forces to the creation and application of public policies that improve the quality of life of residents.

The mayor of the Sucre municipality, José Vicente Rangel Ávalos, accompanied by the president of the municipal council, Gustavo Prieto, and the deputy Gabriela Chacón, have been leading a series of meetings with authorities from various organizations, including the Venezuela Bella Mission, the Fundación José Ángel Lamas, the representatives of the Directorate of Culture, Cultural Heritage of Petare, as well as the spokesmen of the communal councils and communes, who have given their contributions for the anniversary celebration.

“We have been preparing the organization of the 400 years of Petare foundation for two years, when we began the recovery and rearrangement of the Petare vial, to return these public spaces to the people. Likewise, we carried out all the recovery work in the colonial center, with the restoration of the Dulce Nombre de Jesús church, recovery of the Antonio José de Sucre square, rescue of the colonial facades and a tourist route to return to the Sucrenses and visitors some public spaces for family enjoyment, "said Rangel Ávalos.

For her part, Deputy Chacón pointed out that not only infrastructure works are being carried out in the Petare ring, but also improvement works are being carried out in the neighborhoods, in which the asphalt works, rescue of outpatient clinics, installation of mission bases and the execution of special care operations.

“In Petare, we have also been executing a series of social programs for the rescue of values, especially aimed at children, adolescents and the elderly, who are our most vulnerable population, for which we have the support of President Nicolás Maduro and social missions, ”he said.

Meanwhile, Gustavo Prieto, president of the municipal council, indicated that they continually hold meetings with representatives of the Popular Power, who have pointed out the importance of publicizing the community work that is carried out in each neighborhood of Petare, to gain ground against violence. and improve the quality of life of Petareños.
