The Venezuelan airline Conviasa transported from Nicaragua to Venezuela one million 600 thousand flu vaccines, within the framework of the humanitarian operations carried out by the company together with the Venezuelan State.
This was outlined in a Conviasa press release detailing that two Embraer ERJ -190 aircraft took off from the Augusto C. Sandino International Airport in the city of Managua and arrived at the Maiquetía "Simón Bolívar" International Airport in the state of La Guaira.
The first aircraft, V03621, landed at 04:33 p.m. on Wednesday, while the second operation, V03623, arrived at 05:55 p.m. that same day.
The batch of medicines with an approximate weight of 5 tons managed to be acquired thanks to the efforts of the National Government, led by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro.
"This investment will benefit the health of millions of Venezuelans," the letter reports.
Conviasa's humanitarian tasks
During 2023, the Venezuelan airline flew around the world to bring millions of supplies to the country to combat covid-19 and different medicines to treat the disease.
They also highlighted the support for sister countries, such as the flight carried out on February 08 of this year, which transferred the Simón Bolívar Task Force, who would carry out humanitarian work for those affected by the earthquake in Turkey.
On the other hand, the airline has also promoted air cargo transportation, which in 2022 alone accounted for 1.139.401,72 kilos of cargo transported.
