1.226 new infections by covid-19 with more cases in Miranda

The Sectorial Vice President of Communication, Culture and Tourism, Freddy Ñáñez, reported that Miranda was the entity with the highest number of cases due to covid-19 in the last 24 hours, while at the national level 1.226 new infections due to the virus were recorded, rising to 348.873 the total accumulated figure, after the 547 days of the pandemic.

By offering the customary daily balance offered by the Presidential Commission for the Control and Prevention of covid-19, the also Minister of Communication and Information detailed that 332.808 people have been recovered, which represents 95% of infections.

Agregó que actualmente existen 11.851 casos activos,de los cuales 11.445 están recibiendo atención en el sistema público de salud y 406 están recluidos en clínicas privadas. «Hasta la fecha tenemos 6.583 pacientes que se encuentran asintomáticos, 4.386 con Insuficiencia Respiratoria Aguda leve, 728 con Insuficiencia Respiratoria Aguda Moderada y 154 en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos».

Ñáñez stated that cases of community transmission were detected in 18 states, among which are: Miranda (344), Caracas (324), La Guaira (165), Yaracuy (73), Apure (62), Lara (49), Barinas (48), Nueva Esparta (46), Aragua (33), Anzoátegui (25), Portuguesa (17), Falcón (17), Sucre (11), Carabobo (7), Mérida (2), Trujillo (1), Bolívar (1) and Cojedes (1).

Next, he indicated that Miranda was the entity with the highest number of community-transmitted infections in 19 of its 21 municipalities: Sucre / Petare (92), Brión (46), Independencia (36), Acevedo (30), Bolivariano Guaicaipuro (22) , Los Salias (22), Baruta (21), Zamora (16), Pedro Gual (15), Plaza (9), Buroz (6), El Hatillo (6), Chacao (5), Andrés Bello (5), Urdaneta (4), Lander (3), Carrizal (3), Cristóbal Rojas (2) and Páez (1).

Regarding the death toll, Minister Ñáñez pointed out that the total number of deaths from the virus reached 4.214 when 11 new fatalities were reported in the last hours, as reflected in the balance by States: 7 in Caracas (4 women 76, 78, 79, 85 years old and 3 men 47, 66, 82 years old); 3 in Anzoátegui (1 61-year-old woman and 2 79, 88-year-old men) and 1 in Zulia (1 50-year-old man).
