• 2 cups crumbs of cake or cake
• 1/2 cup of arequipe
• 1 cup of colored rain
• 2 tablespoons of hot water
In a cup, mix the arequipe and two tablespoons of hot water to lighten the arequipe, then in a container or bowl mix the cake crumbs with the arequipe and form balls. They go one by one through the rain of colors until they remain
all well covered, we can keep them in the fridge until eating.
You can buy the arequipe in the supermarket, as there are very good presentations, but it is tastier to go the long way: make it yourself.
Stock up on 1,5 liters of whole milk, 2 kilos of sugar, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, 1 pinch of salt, and 2 cinnamon sticks. In a large stainless steel pot, mix all the ingredients, put on the fire and stir frequently, until it thickens, when the flame will lower until it has the consistency of arequipe.
You can also do it with one or two cans of condensed milk, which you will completely submerge in a water bath for about two hours.
