The battle of ideas is in its digital phase, although Orlando Romero Harrington uses all possible weapons for the debate and does not skimp on topic, journalistic genre or medium to face it. It can be through his avatar on Twitter @orhpositivoatak, with articles on Visconversa.com or ElEstado.net or in the constant interviews on Telesur where he is consulted on various current issues.

At the end of June 2009 he became the eighth blogger in the world thanks to the information he sent in his personal blog about the coup in Honduras. He began to make some notes on cyberpolitics that will come out in book format. As a poet, he is about to launch a collection of poems in the key of Hip Hop. He was trained as a Professor in Art and developed studies in the area of graphic design, from which he has never been separated, where he learned to transform the abstract into communication, there the discourse on the digital world is in constant transformation.

He affirms that our generation has come across digital and has faced it according to the tools that each person possesses, but that the new generations come with acquired knowledge, according to psychologists. They are digital natives.

- What is this digital age generating in people?

—Digital is an awareness that a potential world exists. Anyone who has access to digital media is convinced that everything can be done, is at hand and is fast. He has also convinced himself that there is a place where he can satisfy his needs immediately and that place is the web.

- The network is the utopia?

—The network is a potential world. Jean Baudrillard said that it is the concrete expression of power. Everything is potentially possible on the net. That notion of the network as omnipotent is a social construct, where it is even a place where you can be living.

—Jean Guy Allard said the Internet was his homeland.

"It's the same notion you have of the Earth." An inhabitant of the Earth, no matter how much he has traveled, has an awareness that the Planet is much larger than he knows. The same should happen with network users, but it does not happen.

"Why doesn't it happen?"

—Because the network is used by 1,5% of the world's population. The scope of the network is an iceberg. We are at the top pulling the pick, but the real net is in the ice mass below. For penetrating it, Julian Assange is about to be sentenced to death and Edward Snowden is in exile in Russia.

"They thought the internet was free."

—They declared the system and broke the codes that are supra states, of companies that according to their interests cannot go public. Mark Zuckerberg in 2018 stated that Facebook had lost control of the algorithms. That makes us suppose that artificial intelligence is making the algorithms and it is the fear that people have with 5G. They are going to enter the habitat of things. The machine knows much more than we can process. Control has been lost. Skynet is right around the corner.
—Zuckerberg has “lost” control, which is why he has decided to censor presidents, the most recent, Nicolás Maduro.

- You have to see this character as a businessman. Facebook is a company where all users are customers.

—Everyone consumes.

—All are seen as a data for consumption. His Big Data was made for that purpose, with emotional, sociological, psychological, economic, academic, even literary studies. The data that Donald Trump has is that of the Secret Service, which is basically that of the Internet business. Everything we have typed since day one on this network is stored on those servers. Which is the same platform that Snowden used. Because nothing is erased. There are the emails, conversations, and Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, is compiling the data from the Arab world.

Big data is not just any data. "The digital world requires the intervention of interdisciplinary sciences," says Romero Harrington, it cannot be approached from a single point of view, nor can it be "believe that any database is Big Data", no matter how much publicity it has been given. , because to build it “you have to have geoterritorial criteria. The secret is not that you are going to send a message by electronic means and it is going to change people's behavior, but that of generating a cluster with those algorithms ”.

—It's not the data, nor the algorithm ...

—The Big Data trick is not an electronic message that will change your behavior, it is what can be repeated with others. It is to become a transmitting agent of the message. That is why Jair Bolsonaro triumphs with WhatsApp, something that no one had done.

—It was more effective than traditional media.

—Bolsonaro won without having done a single mass public act.

Without a single rally?

"He never spoke!" He never made a speech!

—This contradicts the thesis that digital networks do not represent reality.

—The point is that WhatsApp is a hot channel, a hot medium. Perhaps Telegram is a cold medium where it allows you to exchange photos and high resolution files, include yourself in groups, but your connection, intimacy, is cold. Instead, WhatsApp achieved the immediacy of sharing messages.

- Is it the custom of use for being one of the pioneers?

—WhatsApp inaugurates a sociological phenomenon called Communion, which was already addressed by Inmanuel Kant, the subject of “Spirit of Community”. The strategy of Bolsonaro's advisers is to identify the values that the community allowed within the networks. They first looked for the evangelical groups; then, the anti Lula, which is the entire left that was left aside because of the pact that Lula and Dilma Russef made with the system in order to survive; and right. 80% of the campaign was based on the rumor.

"Why didn't it work for Trump in this last election?"

—For the electronic vote.

—We return to the digital subject.

—Yes, because the issue of rejection of Trump was very evident and it did not swing the norm of everyone who is in the electoral campaign, that when the candidate is lazy, do not talk about politics, but about swimming, soccer ...

—Like Mauricio Macri.

—Macri is the son of cyberpolitics.

"What did you do to deserve such a distinction?"

—The first decree he made when he was president was to allow the State to have access to all Argentine data. He is advised by Cambridge Analytics.

—Spanish writer Lorenzo Silva maintains that Facebook is the current McCarthy.

—What is the importance of President Maduro being censored on Facebook? Is it the same as censuring Trump? It is the power that an entrepreneur has to control his company. What about Facebook? Why have they made it appear that it is the promotion machine? It is one more platform, only it has WhatsApp and Instagram. And if you attack or censor it, take out another platform. It has that ability and power. In Venezuela, due to the siege, it has not been possible to develop its own platform.

"What would you gain from making your own platform?"

—What Hugo Chávez gained by entering Twitter.

—Twitter wasn't Chávez's

—No, but if you dream and build your own platform with all those registered in the Carnet de la Patria and create groups, transmit news, events, it can be a hot medium, in addition to the attention it has created through the delivery of vouchers. If that is accompanied by information on how to invest the petros or get a loan, it is to transform the Big Data of Homeland into information. This is urgent because the world is digitizing.

- How does humanity change with digitization?

—In the labor condition. That person who does not enter the digital world little by little loses his capacity for action. The fundamental tasks, the trades at this time, continue to remain in the binary regime, but social issues have mutated to digital and these communications allow you to bring the mechanic home, find out about processes through tutorial videos.

—Digital literacy is required.

—And we have the experience close to the Robinson Mission, the Canaimitas. Venezuela is a neophilic people. Politics and constant dispute lead the Venezuelan to be in search of information and has an essential condition of mockery, a subjectivity that allows him to criticize the environment and make fun of it. That ability to mock is what has allowed Chavismo many times to get ahead in the face of dirty propaganda.

From global collapse to hype

He agrees with those who argue that the global collapse of civilization would come from an epidemic or an asteroid impact and gave around 60 years. "The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic is not going to stop."

"WHO is not very hopeful."

—What is happening in Manaus is the main example that this virus is no longer going to get a vaccine. Bolsonaro turned it into a laboratory. He is a genocide.

"How is collapse expressed?"

—The United States is the best example. The numbers do not bring them out because they are scary. A perfect breeding ground for Trump's re-election, but the issue of the pandemic that has advanced are the conditions of collapse in several countries. Among them Venezuela. We have years of collapse.

"How do you define it?"

—It is given by the states when they lose effectiveness in public services, investments, financing, negative GDP, without exports. We have all the signs of collapse and still they cannot defeat us. The issue of resistance, the capacity for mockery, stubbornness of the Venezuelan, the notion of Liberator, of Patria Grande ... The migration of Venezuelans, which for the right is a negative sign, but Venezuelans are fighting battles wherever they stand . They are not submissive and they rebel against injustices, emaciated or Chavista. And that Venezuelan sign is spread throughout Latin America.

—The rights that they achieved with the Bolivarian Revolution are replicated in other countries.

"That generation was born and raised on it." And they assume it naturally and now they think: "This is not seen in Venezuela." They know. Maybe they keep quiet because they have to maintain an image. They have to maintain their avatar, which was difficult for them to build.

—What he practices in reality he destroys on the net.

—You build the avatar on the web. You upload the best photo and say what is convenient according to your digital relationships. That is on Twitter, but on Facebook or Instagram it is another avatar, which leads you to be another character. In the end, your image is the same that at some point Big Data is going to throw you, some result that I was not looking for.

- What role do influencers have in the networks?

—This has to be understood as a business. They are the Chataing Generation with a neoliberal vision, which must be reiterated, they are defenders of capitalism at all costs. They dare to defend it in situations where nobody defends it. This is allowed by the network because it has no censorship and the only one that is respected is the platform to which the content is monetized. They are the laws that they respect, the rest they transgress. They go in search of building the hype. Hype is the golden lamb of digital communication.
—Good news don't become hype.

—It is not keeping an account, making a video, generating content or giving visibility to the management of an institution or a company. It is to go beyond building on various platforms an opinion matrix that can support the product in a creative, irreverent, disruptive way.

—When the information is false at some point they break.

—In digital media, post-truth is handled. "I want to believe what I want to believe." All of us who use the networks are a mediated public. Now the opinion of the old is not respected. That is in the past.

- Many things are said in the networks.

- Opinion on digital networks has shown the capacity for hatred and influence within society in general. There are influencers who have used their avatar to promote women's rights. They are of all kinds. What happens is that we face those who are in Miami, who do it for that public and the local right, who are inserted in the capitalism of the Fourth Republic and arrive without censorship through the internet.

"What answer is being given?"

"For that, we have no answer." Every day we are valued in a despicable way by these influencers and this reaches the youth, becoming their references.

Does Chavismo have influencers?

—The word influencer has a commercial character. Chavismo has opinion figures, it has gray hair, respected voices, which have not been transferred to digital language. They do not penetrate in the same way in the youth because it is accused of retrograde at all times. It is a value that has 20 years of electoral and political wick. The secret is to renew communication methods, strategies, formats.

"Is old."

—Our youth comes with the Chavista phenotype and it is difficult for this revolution to come out of the chest of Venezuelans. Although cyberpolitics comes from the white hands that were grouped and militated, but the germ is Chávez. There is no other like him and he broke the glass of cyberpolitics.

Chávez was the first president to communicate with the people on Twitter.

—It was the first time that a politician got a fundamental benefit from it, which is the immediate response. Chávez turned it into a political medium. He transferred his intelligence to his avatar and it responded, gave solutions. He was the first to put his avatar to life.

"Do we have to do politics in cyberspace?"

—Thanks to the internet, digital skills have been learned. Anyone makes a logo, designs their shirt, a mural, writes a text ...

"Anyone is a poet ...

- ... anyone is a literary man and the difference between our generation and the next one is that, for this generation, it is good that you do it, it is the hype. To ours, the academy weighs on us that we do not take it off our backs. And with it goes the weight of history, experience.
