For the first time, an otorhinolaryngology surgical session was held at the Darío Vivas Hospital of the Venezuelan Social Security Institute (Ivss), located in the San Juan de los Morros parish, Juan Germán Roscio municipality, Guárico state, where 10 girls and children between the ages of 4 and 11, in order to provide them with a better quality of life.
This was reported by Dr. Rosa Vásquez, the sole health authority in the Llanera region, who pointed out that the patients underwent adenotonsillectomy and tonsillectomy surgeries, noting that they also benefited from postoperative treatment for optimal recovery.
“All this is completely free of charge. We are doing a great job », she pointed out.
He announced that, to date, more than 8 surgeries have been performed in the different areas that comprise the facilities of the aforementioned health center.
"We have performed many surgeries at our Darío Vivas hospital, working as a team with the Dr. Israel Ranuárez Balza hospital," he said.
Parents satisfied with surgical day
Mirla Pérez, representative of a patient benefited from the day, thanked the health professionals for the excellent service and good care they have received. "Grateful that everything was completely free and that I was able to receive the benefit of medical treatment," she said.
Also, Mrs. Danesca Castillo, specified that the treatment provided by all the staff who lives in the hospital was very good, as were the services provided.
"All the surgical material that was used for the intervention was donated by the hospital, for which I feel grateful," Castillo added, while stressing that free care is of great importance for the population and even more so for those people from low resources.
Next, Eligio Piña reported that his son underwent surgery on his tonsils and "everything went very well thanks to the professionalism of the doctors." He explained that he was supported with the supplies for the child's intervention.
Jivi indigenous people receive medical care
In the Juan Germán Roscio Nieves municipality of Guárico state, 35 indigenous people of the Jivi ethnic group, from Apure state, who are stationed at the facilities of the Dr. Israel Ranuárez Balza Hospital, in the capital of Guariqueña, were treated with a comprehensive medical day. .
According to an official publication on the Instagram account of the Regional Health Directorate in the state, they were provided with general medical care, nutritional screening, deworming, immunization and screening for Covid-19, as well as the delivery of 300 micronutrient powder sachets and prevention educational sessions.
Likewise, by the Darío Vivas Hospital of the Venezuelan Institute of Social Security (IVSS), a menu and 15 food modules were delivered, by the company Alimentos del Guárico (Alguarisa).
The deployment was attended by members of the Regional Health Directorate, Social Protection Secretariat, Ombudsman and Alguarisa.
