In the Cabruta parish, Juan José Rondón municipality of the Guárico state, the harvest process of more than 300 hectares of cotton began, cultivated during the North Summer 2022-2023 cycle.
Through his official social networks, the state governor, José Vásquez, commented that “Guárico is the first producer of this important item in the textile market. We have a blessed land, fertile soils and the peasants, men and women farmers, and producers work with love in the fields to continue promoting production in the state and in the country”.
Vásquez highlighted that in addition to the production of rice, onion, tomato, chili pepper, melon and sideburns, vegetable textile fiber represents other agricultural potentialities in the llanera region.
They harvest more than 2 million kilograms of cotton
For his part, Héctor Vásquez, secretary of Productive Economy of the government, pointed out that for this productive cycle of soft fiber, the entity estimates a production of more than 2 million 600 thousand kilograms, cultivated in the axis that flows into the Guárico River. with the Orinoco river.
Likewise, the secretary mentioned that this collection period involves a little more than 290 producers in the area, who remain deployed in their respective crops.
In this sense, the producers affirm that in the town of Guarica, compared to the cultivation of the past period, the cotton planting cycle 2022-2023 has had a significant rebound in its production, and they indicate that approximately 5 thousand kilograms are harvested per hectare. of vegetable fiber.
They point out that with effort, affection and love, they carry out the cotton harvest, always aiming to obtain the best performance and provide the highest possible quality for the production of textile material in the country.
They will deliver inputs to the productive forces
In this order of ideas, during the broadcast of the En Directo con el Gobernador program, the regional president, José Vásquez, pointed out that together with the Minister for Agriculture and Land, Wilmar Castro Soteldo, they will hold a meeting with the productive forces of Guarica, in the that strategies contemplated within the Productive Financing Plan will be defined for the benefit of the peasants of the entity.
He noted that a shipment of agricultural inputs necessary for the cultivation and fertilization processes was received, which will be distributed among the producers and field workers in the region.
Meanwhile, the Guariqueño ruler called on the popular power organized in the communal councils of the 15 Llanos municipalities, to formalize the registration of agricultural projects through the platform of the Community Integration System (SINCO Guárico), in order to contribute to the production of state and development of the country.
