Guárico opened the doors of its first Mercal store

The store allows savings of up to 45% compared to the traditional market

Basic necessities belonging to the basic Venezuelan basket, food, dairy, meat and others, are part of the items that the population can purchase at the first Mercal store in Guárico state, inaugurated this Sunday in Altagracia de Orituco, José Tadeo municipality Monagas.

"This store comes to strengthen the productive economy of the municipality and joins the Clap compensation program that benefits more than 333 families throughout the state of Guárico," said the governor of the region, José Vásquez, accompanied by the mayor of the municipality , Pedro Solorzano; the mayor of San José de Guaribe, Julio Yánez, and the state coordinator of Mercal, Alirio Aguilar.

He stressed that the beneficiaries will be able to save up to 45% compared to the traditional market, especially in the various protein foods that are sold in the establishment.

The store will serve around 250 people daily

“We continue advancing with the commitment and love of our peasants, producers and the organization of popular power. We produce the food that goes to the table of our people”, emphasized the first authority of the state.

He explained that they seek not to depend on the so-called "port economy", but rather, they try to serve the Guariqueño territory with food produced with a Venezuelan seal.

Given this, Vásquez urged the productive economy team to move forward in the search for new, complete and feasible strategies that contribute to strengthening the production and development of the llanera region.

In this sense, Mayor Pedro Solórzano indicated that this inauguration is framed in the seventh (7th) anniversary of the Local Supply and Production Committees (Clap), with the aim of betting on the food security of the inhabitants of the municipality.

Meanwhile, Alirio Aguilar, state coordinator of the Food Market (Mercal), specified that the store has the capacity to serve around 250 people daily, emphasizing that, in addition to traditional food, residents can also purchase cleaning and personal cleanliness.

They sold fish protein in Rondón

More than 600 kilograms of fish were sold in the Bolívar square in Las Mercedes del Llano, Juan José Rondón municipality, within the framework of the seventh anniversary of the Local Supply and Production Committees (Clap).

In this regard, the municipal coordinator of the Ministry of Popular Power for Food (Minppal), pointed out that this fair is part of an extensive schedule of activities that have been carried out in the entity throughout the month of March.

For her part, the coordinator of the Great Sovereign Supply Mission (Gmas), Marbely García, pointed out that these tasks contribute to counteracting the economic blockade that has been affecting Venezuelan families.

The event was supported by the Food Staff, the Socialist Institute for Fisheries and Aquaculture (Insopesca) and representatives of the Clap.
