Venezuela sympathizes with China over torrential rains in Henan

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela sympathizes with the people and Government of China for the torrential rains that have affected the province of Henan and have caused the death of at least 25 people and more than 200 displaced people.

The Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Jorge Arreaza, through a post published on Twitter, sent condolences to the relatives of the deceased.

“From #Venezuela we express our solidarity with the people and government of #China, given the aftermath of the floods and torrential rains that have affected part of the province of #Henan, in the center of the country. Our condolences to the families of the victims. ”, He said.

The Chinese authorities have warned that the situation could worsen. According to the Chinese channel CGTN, more than 6 firefighters and members of the Army have deployed in the area to participate in rescue efforts.

Train services have been suspended in the east of the city and electric power service has been affected. In addition, the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University has evacuated 600 patients in serious condition.

The president of China, Xi Jingping, has described the floods as "extremely serious" and has conveyed that the "first priority" should be the "protection of people's lives and the safety of property," reported international media.
