Officials from the El Viñedo Coordination Center of the Anzoátegui State Police (Polianzoátegui) stopped the traffic of 3 billion bolivars in bills from the new monetary cone.
The director of Polianzoátegui, commissioner Power Cano Nieto. identified the detainees as the brothers Gilber Jesús (31) and Deyles Jacanamijoy (25) and Deivis Javier Mendoza (23), who were traveling as passengers on a bus from the La Bandera terminal in Caracas and whose destination was Bolívar state.
The police director explained that the officials detected the money when they made a routine review at the El Viñedo Citizen Service Point, located on the José Antonio Anzoátegui highway, section of Troncal 9.
Cano Nieto explained that the 500.000 bolivar bills were hidden in a green bag.
The detainees could not justify holding the paper money, so the officers seized it and notified the Public Ministry of the procedure.
