The Governor of Lara state, Adolfo Pereira reported that he is verifying, "the expansion of the capacity of beds with oxygen" in several health centers of the entity to guarantee care for patients infected with covid 19.
The aforementioned inspection began, this Saturday, April 10, from the "Carmelo José Mendoza" Comprehensive Diagnosis Center (CDI), located in the Los Olivos sector in the Guerrera Ana Soto parish in the Iribarren municipality (Barquisimeto).
He said that it was a guideline of the Regional Committee to monitor the pandemic, to guarantee the conditions of care for patients infected with the deadly virus.
Regarding the aforementioned health center, he specified that it is being rehabilitated, with improvements in kitchen, administrative and operational areas, which has implied restructuring of the infrastructure, setting, painting, adaptation of the bathrooms and bedroom areas, waterproofing, installation of air conditioners and the purchase of state-of-the-art beds.
He added that "it has all the appropriate conditions to receive any standard type connection, with a flow meter and thus facilitate care for patients infected with the virus."
Regarding the engineering and equipment works, Pereira announced: “In a few days, this Centinela Center will be put into operation, since we carry out the adaptation of the oxygen placement system, with capacity for six beds, thanks to the approved resources for President Nicolás Maduro, concerned about the health of the people ”.
The health authorities in Lara assured that they have 230 beds available, with respiratory support and intermediate care for patients affected by covid 19.
