Two members of the El Perú gang were killed during a confrontation in the San Juan II sector, El Callao (Bolívar), according to military sources.
The procedure was carried out by members of the General Directorate of Military Counterintelligence (Dgcim) and the Bolivarian National Guard. The criminals killed are known by the aliases of El Chino and El Barbero.
At the scene, the officers collected a Taurus 38 revolver and a Pietro Beretta 9 mm pistol.
The deployment in El Callao took place after on Saturday, October 9, members of the El Perú gang assassinated Dgcim inspector José Rivas Oropeza and wounded three members of that police force. The four agents were traveling in a patrol which was ambushed near the Isidora Mine.
The criminal organization El Perú owns approximately 57 firearms and camps in the remote areas of El Callao where they take the victims of kidnapping.
