The border police at the French Roissy Charles-de-Gaulle airport arrested Khalid Alotaibi, 33, an alleged member of the command implicated in the murder of the journalist Jamal Khashoggi, a fact recorded in October 2018, in Istanbul, according to agencies.
According to a source - quoted by the AFP news agency - the man was arrested when he was preparing to take a flight to Riyadh.
Khalid Alotaibi is in detention waiting to appear this Wednesday before the prosecution of the Paris appeal court, which will communicate the international detention order requested by Turkey.
The arrest, AFP cites, comes three days after French President Emmanuel Macron shook hands with Saudi Arabia's crown prince Mohamed bin Salmán during a criticized meeting in Jeddah.
The crown prince was considered the mastermind of the murder of the journalist who worked for The Washington Post newspaper and who was dismembered at his country's consulate in Turkey by a command of Saudi agents.
His body never appeared.
For his murder, five people were sentenced to death, while three people were sentenced to prison.
