A total of 2 million 452 thousand 768 units of drugs and medical supplies were distributed in hospitals, Comprehensive Community Health Areas (Asic) and Community Pharmacies in Zulia state, by the Ministry of Health (MppSalud), reported José Miguel Medina, authority unique health in the region.
Medina explained that the hospitals of the hospital network of the Zulian entity were endowed with a total of 562 thousand 496 drugs, an amount that is added to the delivery of 446 thousand 590 units of medical supplies.
“We comply with the Zulian people by supplying the hospital network, equipping the health centers. We are attentive to any requirement, which must be requested by the directors and directors of the hospitals with whom we work together for the health of the patients," said Medina.
The representative of the Ministry of Health added that the commitment is to guarantee the proper functioning of the Zulia health network, which includes the plan for the rehabilitation and maintenance of the Barrio Adentro outpatient network, instructed by President Nicolás Maduro and Minister Magaly Gutiérrez. .
The coordinator of the Barrio Adentro Foundation in the Zulian entity, Elsa Manzanilla, reported that the 64 Asic that the regional territory has, have been endowed with 1 million 012 thousand 160 units of drugs, among which are analgesics, antibiotics, anti-inflammatories; as well as antihypertensives and for the treatment of diabetes, among others.
Manzanilla assured that the 26 Community Pharmacies in the region were supplied with a total of 431 thousand 522 drugs, which are distributed free of charge to patients with their respective prescription from any Popular Medical Office or Comprehensive Diagnostic Center.
He stated that the provision of medical supplies to health centers in Zulia is part of the responsibility and commitment of the Bolivarian Government to strengthen the National Public Health System, overcoming all the difficulties imposed by the economic war and the pandemic.
Health Day and delivery of medicines
A total of 743 people were treated during a comprehensive health day at the La Victoria Comprehensive Community Diagnostic Center (CDI), located in the Caracciolo Parra Pérez parish of the Maracaibo municipality, coordinated by the Ministry of Health in Zulia state.
In the medical day of health, patients were treated in the specialties of general medicine, ophthalmology, gynecology, pediatrics, dentistry, physiatry, traumatology, rehabilitation, PSA and PCR tests, among others.
Yarelis Gutiérrez, director of the Comprehensive Community Health Area (Asic) La Victoria highlighted that the people served received more than 500 attentions, in different specialties, accompanied by the delivery of drugs for each case.
“These deployments are extremely important, since they are carried out in the most vulnerable communities, where many times their inhabitants do not have the resources to receive quality medical care and purchase medicines,” Gutiérrez said.
People's power appreciated the free care provided near their homes, because many people cannot travel to the local health centers.
"I don't have money to pay for a general medicine consultation, much less traumatology or x-rays and here I have gotten them for free, also with the delivery of my treatments," said María Olivares, a resident of La Victoria.
Zulimar Silva, benefited from the health day, thanked the body of doctors who treated her.
He indicated that these deployments are necessary and he hopes that they will be done constantly, since they facilitate free access to health.
