Yaracuy opened its Paragliding Open

The Paragliding Open Yaracuy 2020 brought together 49 national pilots this weekend, many of them of international stature, in Campo Elías, Bruzual de Yaracuy municipality, in a tournament valid for the official classification of this sporting specialty that is held for the first time in that town, which for many has great potential to become one of the best in the entire country for its practice.

The activity took place last Saturday when the winners of the sleeves or routes that have been taking place in the place since Wednesday were finally awarded.

The Deputy Minister of National Tourism, Jesús Plasencia, was accompanying the activity on Thursday, from where he stated that from now on Campo Elías will be promoted as the perfect destination for paragliding, due to the perfect characteristics of the place for the execution of this sport.

“This place is wonderful, it has ideal spaces for paragliding and to reconnect with nature and with oneself, there is a lot of tranquility and spirituality, which, in addition to the excellent conditions for paragliding, make this site a very special destination. "Said Plasencia

The unique authority of Tourism of the Yaracuy state, Egilda Figueredo, highlighted that the activity marks an important precedent for the holding of next meetings in the area and the consolidation of Yaracuy as a power of sports tourism.

The representative of the Venezuelan Federation of Icaros and Paragliders, Roberto Andara, mentioned that the 1.250 meters high of Campo Elías, its wide spaces and the winds that coincide in the mountain make the place the perfect place to practice this sport.

"The dimensions of the Yaracuy Valley are perfect for making international heats, with its 2.000 square kilometers and its extraordinary winds, we have the best conditions to do them and that is what we are focusing on to make these spaces a world reference for paragliding," said Andara.
